Meet Donda
Donda, whew... hey mama. Donda is an homage to a mother's love, a Black mother's love.
Mothers and children, we are imperfect, but there is no greater act of love than the gift of life. There is no greater expression of love than unconditional support. There is no greater reciprocity of that love than a deep appreciation for anything and everything our mother's are capable of being and doing. Women, flawed humans, doing their best to support children, flawed humans, doing their best to do as well or better than the generation before. Donda is love.

Design Story
The Trilogy will forever live on in history as the best of Kanye. An indisputable genius, Kanye found a purposeful, profitable and seemingly predestined path outside the confines of institutional higher learning.
While Mr. West briefly attended both the American Academy of Art and Chicago State University, his ultimate decision to drop out to pursue music was one that seems to have forever haunted his conscience (at least a little) for one reason - Donda.
Kanye's mother's reverence for, and emphasis on education was the source of Kanye's guilt and when she unexpectedly went home in 2007 before Kanye could fulfill the promise he made on Late Registration's "Hey Mama," declaring " I know I act a fool, but I promise you I'm going back to school," it was crushing for all of us.
So, when in 2015, Kanye received his honorary Ph.D. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, in his hometown those of us who love him deep, let out a resounding cheer. We rejoiced and we sang,
"Forrest Gump mama said, 'Life is like a box of chocolates'
My mama told me go to school, get your doctorate
Something to fall back on, you could profit with
But still supported me when I did the opposite
Now I feel like it's things I gotta get
Things I gotta do, just to prove to you
You was getting through, can the choir, please
Give me a verse of 'You Are So Beautiful To Meeee.'"
